Washington DC
Ground Zero
The first time Scott and I went to New York with Jessi was right after 9/11. It was devastating. There was a huge hole and tons of rubble. Trucks were working day and night to get rid of it all. The second time we went to New York they had cleared the whole site and the plans were starting to form for the new site. This time we went there and the memorial was finished and the new buildings were half way built. It was really neat to see it all coming together after all this time.
We are tourists in NYC
We spent a lot of time showing the kids all the sites of NEW YORK! Although Scotty and I had been there 2 times in the past 6 years we wanted to show our kids al the tourist sites! We went to the top of the Empire State Building! We rode the ferry to The Statue of Liberty! We saw the LDS temple! We rode the Subway! We went to a Broadway Show! The kids waited in a LONG line at 4 in the morning to try and get into Saturday Night Live! We did a flash dance in the Middle of Grand Central Station!
Our New York City Apartment
We rented an apartment in New York City for 10 days! We were really able to live like New Yorkers for those days. It really gave the kids a taste of the Big City life! We rode the subway everywhere, everyday. We had groceries delivered to our house, we walked lots of places. Austin watched his football and we all bonded in the small three bedroom home! It was a blast!
