Seems only fitting

The last post I put on here was about Conner and Scouting...Well he just earned his Arrow of Light and became a Boy Scout so this is going to be my first post coming back! I love keeping a family record of all our pictures and events and then making them into a book every year!  Then life gets crazy and I forget!  I'm leaving on a girls trip this weekend so hopefully I'll have time be the pool to catch up a little on the past year.

It's been such an excited year but a lonely one too.  I find as my kids grow and develop into their own terrific adults unfortunately they don't need their Mommies as much!  I really miss my two oldest kids ALL THE TIME!  I feel my life with other rewarding and great things BUT nothing beats being a MOM! I love it so much and I think I HAVE THE BEST KIDS AROUND!!!

So back to the Blogging world I come.  It may just be for a few days to catch up but I'm hoping I can stick with it!

So proud of Conner. He achieved all 20 pins from the Webelos program and earned his Arrow of Light! He was a little embarrassed with all the attention he got afterwards.  It was also the pinewood derby that night.  His little car placed 2nd and they had a blast racing.  Secret story connected to the pinewood derby! But it's not my secret to tell.  If anyone ever reads this and wants to ask Scotty about it ....go ahead!!

Conner Scouting

Conner is a great scout!  He works hard to pass off all his requirements and just got his Webelos Badge.   He is now working on his arrow of light!  With all he is involved in, I am impressed that my little ten year old keeps up with it all so well!  Way to be Conner!!

Conner 5th grade Football

Conners 5th grade year of football was fun to watch.  He played corner on defense.  They worked hard together and he made a lot of friends.  Conner really liked playing with Luke and Jackson.  They had two hour practices everyday. He LOVED playing in the games!  His last game was the best he had 5 fumble recoveries and almost a pick 6.  He is one of the best tacklers on the team! Go T-Wolves!!

Austin Makes it to England!

Austin loves the England MTC.  There are only about 80 missionaries and his mission presidents wife is President Hinkleys daughter.  They take such good care of these boys.  She has been sending us pictures every few days.  It had been so nice to know what he is up to, see that he is happy and safe.

Jess teaching every day all day!!

Jess is teaching at 3 studios and she got a job teaching at an arts high school.  She is loving it!  Here are some of her cute students! So happy she is getting do what she loves everyday!

Sidney Wins Sterling Scholar Award!

Such a proud Mommy today! Sidney has always struggled with school.  She has gotten through but had to really fight to keep good grades.  Math and Science has always given her a really hard time! When she came home to tell me she was applying for the Sterling Scholar I was super excited but I also wondered if she stood a chance against so many girls with straight A's and higher than most ACT scores! I shouldn't have worried! Sidney had confidence that she could pull it off.  She sure did! She danced so beautifully at the Sterling Scholar Showcase that I thought WOW! She just might get this! She had also told me her interview and improv dancing had gone really well.  All we could do was wait....Well she called me first thing Friday morning crying and soooo excited! She had won STERLING SCHOLAR!!!  She received a full scholarship to UVU and will now be attending school there!

Austin's Farewell

Austin's farewell was amazing!  He did such a great job speaking! It's funny to hear your own kids speaking in public. It helps you realize how amazing they are and how much they have grown into the great people you knew they were.  Well....that was my reaction to Austin and his farewell talk at church.  He is going to be the most amazing missionary.  We had a house full of kids and well wishers all day.  We served crepes with everything you could desire on top of them.  It was such a great day! One of our friends took these great shots of us all together.
