Last Friday I decided it would be fun to let Nikki and Conner have a sluff day with me and go to the State Fair. I was feeling guilty after taking them to the childrens museum and realizing we never really take Nikki and Conner to do little kid things because the teenagers complain. So anyways once a month I am going to take them some where kid friendly.
Well........kid friendly is the wrong word for the state fair. We went at 10 am and it really must have been bring the freakiest friend to the fair day. I didn't let go of Nik or Conner the whole time we were there. OK.... they had a blast: walking through poo to see stinky animals, eating anything unhealthy you can think of ( ever tried a double fried peanutbutter and jelly sandwich with chocolate sauce and whip cream on top), riding the big huge yellow slide ( this thing was here when I was a kid, can it really be safe), of course Conner wanted to buy every item at every booth ( he ended up with a balloon weapon. The big ball with spikes on it with a chain and handle attached) walking through a million or should I say billion jacuzzi's ( do these people really sell a lot of these at the state fair)
Just when I could take no more the kids saw the creep show tent. "Please Please..we want to go in" Thinking we had already seen the creepiest creeps just walking around the fair, I paid the 3 dollar extra admission ticket and we stepped into the creep tent. A six legged cow, a two nosed horse, the tiniest pony, a three eyed lamb. ( Scarily my kids were enjoying all this) We then came to the big jars of dead weird things. ( My kids are still loving it) I can't take anymore so while they are checking out all the gore, I look over to see how much more I have to endure. At the end of the tent laying on a table is the mermaid lady (meaning no legs and one tiny foot coming out her torso) and the three legged man. I thought at first they were wax figures but then saw they were both texting on phones. This made me sick to my stomach. I grabbed my kids before they could see them and we left the creep tent. I felt so bad that these people would lay on that table all day for money and let people stare at them. What a sad life.
I give the fair 1 star for the nachos I had at lunch. My kids would say 4 stars but they will have to go back when they have kids. That was my last fair visit
