The Fourth of July!
Every Year we celebrate the fourth in a big way. The kids all spend the night on the parade route and save our spot at the parade. We eat breakfast on the route and then watch all the hot air balloons rise. We watch the parade and then we usually go to a movie, have a big extended family water fight and picnic and then fireworks. This year after the parade we left to California and missed all the other festivities. :(

Harry's Midnight Movie

My kids love Harry! Jess was always a little bookworm and read each Harry cover to cover as soon as they came out. One of the books we took her to the book store at midnight to wait in line to get her book. It seems like she was only 10 so it was a huge deal. She stayed up reading all night. Austin never really got into them but likes the movies. Sid has read one or two but loves the movies. Nikki has been reading all the books the last few months.
Anyways the kids decided they wanted to go to the midnight showing of Harry six. I bought them tickets online at least 6 weeks before and then they went to stand in line at 5:00. Sid is very proud of the fact that they were 2nd in line for the show. They sat and watched crazy kids dressed in all sorts of Harry garb all night, played games and we brought Zuppas by and ate in line with them. at 3:00 am we got a phone call that Austin had left the lights on in the truck and had a dead battery so Scott had to go pick them up....They loved the movie! Scott, Sandi, and Conner went to the movie the next day at 2:00 p.m.....no line, no waiting, and perfect seats.

Finally The American Girl Cafe
I am going to be straight up right from the start. I have had a fascination with these silly dolls since Jessi was little! I remember her first doll coming for Christmas when she was 8. I opened her and played with her before Christmas. Since then all 3 of my daughters have also loved their American Girl Dolls and Bitty Baby's. Jess and Sid have lost the thrill but Nikki and I still have it! When we went out to California this summer I made reservations for Nikki, Conner and I to go to the cafe. At 22 a plate, it was a little pricey but hey the dolls ate for free! Nikki will never forget her American Girl day with Mom! Check out all the little desserts they brought us! Everything was super girlie! I don't think Conner loved it ( or at least he would never admit he did)
Baseball and Softball all summer long!

Nikki had a great softball team. "The Shockers" Nikki ended up being the 1st string pitcher and did a great job. She is very athletic and has a lot of determination and drive in her. I think she got that from me...haha! Anyways their team ended up taking first place in the regular season and winning the whole tournament. I love team sports and the things they can teach your kids if you can guide it into conversations about sportsmanship and how to treat others.
I was the assistant coach and had a blast with all these little girls.

Ozzy played too but with his football schedule and all our trips he only got to play in 5 games. It was good to see him out on the field again. I hope he sticks with playing recreationally for awhile. It is so fun to go to the big boy games.
Now Conner is playing tackle football and Ozzy is playing football for Timpanogos. We also have family tickets for BYU this year and we all joined a fantasy football league. Looks like fall is devoted to football and dance!

A summer without Blogging. Time to catch up!
So now that school is back in session I fully intend to not only catch up on my blog but to print all my history as a journal. I'm really sad school starts tomorrow. The summer went by so fast...4 trips to Jordanelle, one trip to Flaming Gorge, Girls Camp, a trip to California, Shakespear Festival girls trip, baseball, baseball and softball, an engagement, a remodel on our house...Geeze no wonder I'm tired. So I am going to blog a little everyday until I get caught up!
